Question trailer brakes

89 Ford F250, not that the truck should really make a difference, but......Have trailer brakes that I want to disconnect. Actually it is the thing that is in the cab. Can I just snip the wires, label them and tuck them away? Or is there something more that I need to know? Thanks for any help on this.

You should be able to just snip, tape and tuck. Check under the hood for either a aux battery line of a designated fuse to disconnect/pull out.

both my 08 and 11 Sierra were prewired from the factory for the brake controller, where I just had to match wires to my brake controller, connect the wires to the lugs at the fuse box and pop the fuse in.

Just out of curiosity....why bother? Just tape and tuck the connector in the rear of the truck....that way it is there if needed.
