I'm looking for some help with a couple problems i'm having with my truck.
When coming to a stop i'm feeling a clunk kinda feel in the seat which seems to be coming from the rear end. Then when you take off it's even more noticeable. Has anyone else run into this? Sticky caliper maybe or worn ujoint? I crawled underneath and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.


The second problem is, when making a left hand turn, sometimes you can hear like a snapping, crunching kinda sound. Again I crawled underneath tried moving parts around to mimic the sound. Nothing.

Any help on these two issues would be appreciated

 

What kind of truck are we talking about?

 

I'd start with the U-joints for the clunking... otherwise it could be your rear end.

As far as the snapping goes, I'm not sure. Is it 4wd?

 

Its a 99 mazda b4000 4x4

 

Even a technician can have a hard time to diagnose a CLUNKING and SNAPPING noise on a personnel test drive.
With out seeing, hearing or even test driving we'll try our best to help you out.
Clunking noises originating during braking and accelerating can rang from anything from an exhaust pipe hitting something it is too close to.
Another one is possibly a brake shoe has broken in the drum.
Possible cab mount may have worn out
Stabilizer bar or stablizer bushing.
Under body spare tire loose?

 

Well I found today after crawling under it again that there's a fair amount of play in the rear driveshaft. That scares me a bit

Found what was causing the front end noise. The upper control arm bushings and ball joint are completely worn out.
