we have a 1989 gmc s10 p/u with 3.8 liter engine. sometimes it will not start unless we use ether. have checked fuel system, battery, electrical etc.. some days she will start other days she won't. any ideas were to look next?

 

i didnt know that they put 3.8 in the s10. i thought they put the 4.3 and 2.8 in the s10

 

You might check the distributer, if there is oil under the cap anywhere you could have a problem with the cd unit even if there is no oil that can cause strange starting problems like what you have discribed. Hope this helps, let us know.
