Trans. question 89 into a 91?
Will an automatic trans. from an 1989 Chevy van fit in a 1991 2WD Silverado regular cab. Both have 350s, van is carburated and truck is F.I. The van is a heavy duty custom.
My current problem on the Silverado is I put it in geer and it feels like the brake is on trying to move forward. Also started thumping a bit on start out the other day. Also has a slight wineing sound start a few weeks ago but not as bad now since adding Lucas into the trans. . It will drive and shifts smooth still but somethings up and I'm injured to the point I can't afford to be stuck on the side of the highway and need this fixed.
It has around 168K on it right now, I bought it with 140 and don't know the prior history. The 89 trans. is right next door so asking if it would fit? Same converters?
