Default Troubles Starting

Im having some major issues starting my 2000 chevy 2500 6.0L....It just recently was starting strange sometimeslike it would have no juice at all and then after i kept turning the keyoff and on it would get a connection and start when i pumped the gas pedal...I had the (batteries)tested and the drivers side had no juice in it so I purchased a new one and it was starting just fine until later that night, I tried to start it and all it would do is make a ticking noice and then after a few more tries the truck completely lost power the clock reset and then it finally re-gained juice and started up with a rough idle. I cleaned all the batter terminals and bolts but still the same ole problem. So if anyone has had similar issues or has an idea of whatshould try I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance!

also i was wondering if maybe i have a bad ground connection somewhere?
