Default 2025 1500 Chevy Vs. F250 6.7 2016

Hey guys,
So I’m add a little bit of a crossroads here. I’m coming out of a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3. She currently has 237,000 miles on the odometer and for as much as I travel and drive I’m looking into getting something else. So far the truck has been pretty great, failed tranny at 90 K miles but I put 146,000 miles on this Tranny and haven’t had a hiccup. I tow a bass Boat about 50% of the time and it seems like 40% of the time I’m usually driving 50 minutes plus to go somewhere or do something.
There’s a dealer by my house that has really good deals on new Chevys, I’m looking at 1500 at either the 5.3 or the 3.0 L baby Max. I can get into a trail boss for about 50 K brand new. The only thing that I’m worried about is the reliability issues that I’ve been hearing about the new Chevy’s and pretty much all new trucks in general. From recalls to electrical issues to oil leaks, I’m just worried about getting something that’s gonna spend more time in the dealer than the road.
The other route that I’m considering getting a used F250, for example I’m looking at one now that a friend of mine can vouch for, 2015 with 120 K miles for 35k, very very good condition. It’s is tuned and deleted with ez lynk and gdp tunes and trans tunes, cold air intake , egr block off plate, 5 in turbo back , fass 220 , sump in the bottom of tank , all new bigger fuel lines , brand new 37x13.50s and more.

I’m a fishing guide for a living and all I do is tow boat, granted it’s not a big huge heavy boat, it’s 20 foot bass boat that pretty much any truck can tow. But it is towing and it is almost every single day especially during season. My hobby is also fishing so when I’m not working I’m still towing the boat. I live in Florida and a lot of times I travel out of state for a couple of national tournaments, this year for example I drove to Texas twice, Arkansas, and Kentucky, towing the boat.

So basically what I’m trying to say is if you’re in my shoes, do you take the risk of getting one of these newer problematic trucks that might live at the dealer?. Or do you go for a used but extremely reliable platform in the F250 6.7.
