Default looking for a little advice on which truck to buy

So I'm looking to spend about 3000 on something I'll use to tow 2 quads back and forth to the mountains (so it needs to be reliable). I've been looking at everything from ranger's to f 150's to blazers and frontiers. My questions are..
1) I've heard that the motors in or at least dodge rams in general aren't the most reliable trucks... true to any extent?

2) Should I be looking at a full size for any reason (I think the idea of it is better then actually owning one but maybe not...)

3) stay away from plow trucks I would assume yes?

Anything info you guys can arm me with for my search is greatly appreciated.

You can easily get a Lemon no matter what model you buy. What ever you buy, try and get a maintenance history.

If your towing a couple of quads any kind of distance... It's good to have the tow vehicle weigh more then the trailer and load Mini trucks don't make a good equipment or toy hauler

YES stay away from plow trucks, unless you know the driver was a good / smart plow driver. Go V8 engine not a V6 for a tow vehicle.

Hope I was of some help. A truck equipped with a factory tow package would be your best bet Ford Chev or Dodge.

Thanks in2trux, I'll look for a full size, and yes I've been trying to find service histories, I know that is invaluble.
