Question Help buying my first truck...

Tired posting this in the help section, didnt get much play there so thought id repost here n see if i get some help

Whats up guys and gals, this is my first post...and my first truck (or car or any vehicle for that matter!)

I'd like to give you an idea of what i'm looking for and if anyone can comment/suggest anything to help me out id really appreciate it.

First off I'm looking for something thats gonna pull 6,000 lbs+...so i think my options would be the following (in order of style preference )

Toyoda Tundra
Ford F-150 or 250
Nissa Titan
Chevy Silverado
GMC Sierra
MAYBE a Dodge Ram (not crazy about the style on most)

Secondly, of course is something that gets good mileage....now i know that diesel's get much better mileage (thou im not sure of the specifics??) but the sound kills me! So any suggestions as to who has the quietest diesel, or modifications that can be made to make a diesel more quiet?

Third i'd like something thats not gonna bust down on me, so reliability is naturally a big factor.

I know i'm going to want a used truck...does anyone know somewhere i could go to compair specs. of a truck for each year (ex: gas mileage, horsepower etc of a 2004 Tundra to a 2005 Tundra...)

I live in Arizona so i have a pretty good selection of trucks...but I'd like to stay at 10k or under.

So...any suggestions...any thing in paticular i should look out for/pay attention to that i didnt mention?

Hope I can get some good advice and hopefully some good links to some places where i can compair specs ....thanks everyone!

I don't think you can go wrong with the Fords or Chevys/GMCs. Lots of them around and lots of help with repairs and mods. For towing I'd recommend going as big as you can to start with... 2500 GMs or 250 Ford. You won't be sorry you did, but will be kicking yourself if you are under sized or under powered, besides the safety factor. Don't ask how I know.

wow, that kinda makes me want to just ask 'How do you know!' lol

Someone told me fords are rather hard to work on and advised Chevys as being easier maintainence...any feed back on how true this is?

You cannot go wrong with a Ford F-250
