Hi! Newbie buying 1st truck for work/pulling
Hey folks, I have never owned a truck before but now the need for one has appeared. I have decided to start shopping for a used truck (mostly through auctions etc) that can meet my immediate needs!
At 37, I know what I don't know, and that is truck reliability, towing capacities, years to buy/avoid and the extreme range of options for the engines transmissions etc... 10hrs of research has confused me more than anything!
Im not sure what sections and forums to post in yet but I'll have a ton of questions!
About me:
I drive a 15y old civic that will see 500,000 miles before i sell it.
The need that drove me here:
The wife and I buy/sell used commercial items outside of our regular jobs. We have dock height warehouse space. The stuff we haul has weighed between 25lbs and 4000lbs per item. From what I have seen we will likely replace the truck bed, and add a lift gate. We aren't picky except for it being able to tow with minimal maintenance after we spend a grand or so getting it mechanically sound. We do plan on getting a trailer, after we have solid truck (and using both truck and trailer to their safe load capacity).
At this stage any direction on where I should post newbie questions would be helpful!

You seem to be on the right track in your search, but there's a lot to consider and it can be a lot to take in. I chose my 2022 Ford F-450 and so far It's been reliable, durable, and has a high tow capacity. I also made sure to have it inspected by a qualified mechanic before I bought it.
