Default new chevy guy with some questions

Hey everyone I'm new to this site... my name is Tyler and I drive a 1998 chevy cheyenne c3500 2wd pickup.. it used to be a quest work truck and now its one of my dd's. I want to know if anyone here has ever converted the 2wd truck like mine to a 4wd with a solid front axel as I would like to start collecting parts for the conversion so that I may turn my dd into a woodland toy

It's possible, but not recommended. The cost outweighs the benefits and you are further ahead to buy a different truck. I know that this isn't the answer you wanted to hear.

Welcome to the forum tho!

I would say stick the 97-98 Chevy Pickups and see if you could find a decent Z-71 extended cab. You can find them around me for $6500-$8000 in good shape, usually guys put small lifts on them. It's usually the best way to go because you get one of the only years of a Vortec 5.7

i would definately agree with the above. you can put a mild 2-3 inch lift on for little money with a leveling kit (or just crank the torsion bars) and an add a leaf in the rear. with that little lift you can put some 33s maybe 34s on wider offset rims. that would get you a capable off road truck that is practical for everyday use
