Default trying a tundra

im new to the forum, was a die hard chey guy, started with a 78 gmc 3/4 4x4, have had 2 whl drvs, my last 4 trucks have been burbans. the one i traded for my tundra was a 99 3/4 4x4, 454, 4:10. nice truck, ive never had any major issues with any of my gm products, was tiered of feeding it. i have had good luck with toyota cars. i wanted a 1/2 tn that would handle my 9000 lb camper, and not be too bad on gas. the tundra decision was based on american made content. tundra 80%, dodge 70%, gm 61%, ford 60%. i have had the truck for 4 months, so far, so good.mileage is 19 on gas,15 on e85. ive only pulled the camper 20 miles so far, and it did good. we will see when it comes to a good size hill. im not in love with the truck, but it is comfortable. im interested in what other people think about the tundra, and i will give more opinions as time goes on. gotta go, i think my dog has to poop!

Well my boss's boss's boss has an 08 Tundra and he's not overly impressed. it's a nice truck and has nice power, but It's kind of a pain for him to get the brakes done every 10,000 miles and the twelve recalls. He had to have the frame rebuilt after it rusted around a bolt for the power steering and it broke through. Plus the payload stability is less than impressive.

That's just his experience though... Good luck with yours! And good luck with the dog
