That's a LOT of miles lol.

To have them last a long time, do you have to just do the normal maintenence (oil changes every 3,000 miles, take it in every once in a while, etc.) or is it more?

if you keep up general maintance, i.e. changing fluids regularly and replacing things as they go out you can keep em running for that long.

Well I will be 100% sure to do that then.

How much do you guys spend on maintenence each year?

200 or 300 but i like to replace a few more things also so it just keeps driving instead of seeing driveway time.

Sweet, that doesn't seem like a lot at all.

I'm so stoked to get a truck lol.

The key to making any vehicle last that long is keeping the fluids and filters changed regularly! Expecially the things most people NEVER change like tranny fluid and differential fluid.

it all depends on what you can handle fixing and checking for maintanence you could say, i like the 88-98 years cause they had a lot less sensors and computerized stuff to worry about, more direct and easier to pinpoint problems when they come up.

I have a 20' S-10 reg. cab, and a 04' 4-door 2500HD Silverado... I like them both, I have no room probs. out of the s-10, but I am about 5-10...Some of my taller or bigger friends don't like it, but it's not their truck.I guess what I am saying is that, if you are taller or bigger, maybe consider a bigger truck. If not, I think you will be happy.
