Opinions about modifications...
Howdy folks,
I have a 2011 Silverado LT (5.3L and 6 speed). I tried using the FAQ, but didn't seem to have any luck.
I am wondering what kind of performance difference I would notice with some form of controller chip and either a K&N or AFE air intake assembly.
Also, do any of you believe these modifications would compromise the life of some mechanical parts? (ie: camshaft, valves, connecting rods, etc.)
Thanks for your time.

I would skip the air intake system. In my opinion they are a bunch of hype and the gains you see are so high in the RPM range that you really won't ever get to see it. PLUS starting in the mid 90's GM basically put a cold air intake on them from the factory. A custom tune seems to be the best bang for the buck. I am not sure what they can do with the 2011's but I know it had made a world of difference in the earlier models that I have done.
