Diesel Tundra?

RE: Diesel Tundra?
Doubt that Toyota is goingto offer anything like that, but since GM went to Isuzu to develope the Duramax ,anything is possible.
My guess is that the market (# of units sold) for that requirement is very small and not conducive to a lot of sales.

RE: Diesel Tundra?
That might be a concept that never gets beyond that, but then some concept vehicles actually do make it to production. It would be interesting to learn if the engine is totally Toyota or if it was developed in conjunction with another company. With an engine that size it would certainly tow about anything you wanted to hook up to. Way beyond what I will ever need.
Where did you find the info ? I would like to read up on it.

from what ive seen and heard down here around Houston is that they are toying with the idea and seriously considering it. I saw what the dealer was claiming a heavy duty tundra and when it started it was a diesel from the sound of it. ever since then i started doing research on it and found that if they were to do a diesel it would be an 8 liter with 300 hp and something around 750 ft. lbs. of torque. i will be thoroughly suprised if they do this anytime soon but i guess anything is possible. my money is that they keep it a mystery to build interest like they have been and it will show up around 2014 which is when they claim they will make a change to the tundra, which most think will be body styling but i think it will be the diesel. I'm no expert but that is what i have been able to find out. lets all cross our fingers and hope lol
