Default Motor Trend Truck of the Year!

Toyota Tundra, 2008 "truck of the year", no big surprise! Unfortunately it wasn't released eary enough in 2007 to be eligible for last years award or it would've been two years in a row for the Tundra, lol!

Unfortunately, people are noticing these new Tundra's as i see more and more of them appearing on the roads everyday! Guess words out and the news spreads fast. No.1 truck being traded for a Tundra is a F150. Damn, hope there doesn't become as many Tundras around as F150's or i'll have a bellybutton vehicle like most others out there, lol! Guess i can't have all the fun too myself?

Wow, i thought i would've got 20 responses from chevy guys saying wait till next year, lol! Actually GM does have a great competitor to the new Tundra with the 6.2L Denali. Too bad they don't price that truck in the same range as a Tundra, then i would have bought one of those instead. Maybe next year!

I saw the Tundra in the latest Motor Trend magazine. I cant believe they put it in the same class as the HD trucks like the Ford F450, which can tow 24,500 pounds compared to the Tundras 10,100.

Too bad these newer Tundras dont look like the 03-06 ones. I really like the look of those, but that 4.7 is slightly inadequate in some situations with its 240 hp.

I was shocked that the little 4.7L motor was also tested in another Tundra, and it's 0-60 times loaded and unloaded were almost identical to the GM's 6.0L!

Have you seen the torque curve on the 6.0? I've seen mountains in the Rockies flatter than that.

Motor Trend wanted to test it last year but Toyota was afraid to put it up against new Silverado and they knew there would be less competition this year.

Actually, thats the furthest from the truth, it wasn't eligible for the testas it wasn'treleased until Feb. of 2007. If toyota would of releasedtheir new 2007 before Jan. of 2007 like GM did, it would have been entered. I'm sure GM made sure that MT didn't overlook the little technicallityin their rule book so they could just have the award handed to them as their were no other "new for 07" trucks that qualified lol!
