i was wondering if anyone has found a bigger/longer oil filter for an 08 Avalanche? the filter that it calls for is real tiny and i would really like to have one with more filtering capacity. the 5.3L up to 06 have a larger filter (Fram TG/XG3429) which is about 40% larger than the factory filter. any and all halp in this matter is greatly appreciated.

 

Compare the 2 filters side by side. See if the rubber seals are the same location and such. If it is then that could possibly be the bigger filter you are looking for. That is hoiw my GMC is. I want to go back to the larger filter too if I could remember the part number.

 

I used to be a FRAM filter fan it was the one that I used religiously then I read a article where this fellow took apart ALOT of filters and was very much dismayed at what I saw.
I was going to switch to K&N or Mobil1 but found the Purolator Pure One and have stuck with them.

 

I would recommend you to change the oil filter.
