07 nnbs sierra vibration issues
Okay, first time poster but I have some questions for you guys, now before anyone says anything let me just say that I am both no means an idiot, I'm a tech 3 diesel mechanic for a living so I'm not new to this, however I have always owned and worked on older vehicles and I'm simply asking these questions to see if anyone else has experience with the same issues.
Now, with that being said, I have an 07 nnbs sierra z71, I bought the truck about 5 months ago with 173,000 miles on it. I noticed a vibration when I bought at speeds above 65, first thing I done was replace the tires as the ones on it were 16 years old, no change in vibration. Rotated tires, no change in vibration. Now, here's a list of all I've done to the truck besides the new tires...
new upper and lower control arms
Front end alignment x2
New front hub assemblies
new cv axles
new struts
new shocks
New engine mounts
New u joints(replaced them twice)
New axles and axle bearings and seals in the rear end
New 20" wheels
New updated body mounts
New 33" Mud tires(balanced and rotated as well)
driveshaft checked and balanced
Even removed driveshaft and taped off output shaft and drove truck in 4x4 and I STILL have a vibration above 60mph...
Now, being that I removed the driveshaft that would almost eliminate anything coming from the rear correct? Seems logical... also no vibration in the steering. However I do know that my front rotors are slightly warped, I havent measured them yet but I can see them warped with my eyes, but i get absolutely no vibration or brake pulsation in the pedal or steering wheel. Is it POSSIBLE, i know it's not probable, but is it POSSIBLE that the rotors could be warped enough to cause the vibration but make it seem like it could be something else? I also know that its possible that it could coincidentally be tires also since nothing change when removing the driveshaft... the rotors is the only thing I have not changed or removed from the truck... any suggestions guys? I'm grasping at straws here and debating selling the truck bc of it but I love the truck.
