Default 1500 cuts out randomly, no Msg on dash.

2000 1500 Silverado w/ 124K miles, no problems so far until recently.

Truck fires right up every morning lunch and quiting time. On the road she shifts and revs fine but has started mis-firing or sputtering. There doesnt seem to be a pattern, atleast that I've noticed.

Replace -

Plugs, Wires, Cap&rotor, used Techron fuel treatment. Im going to check/clean AirIdle Control Valve tonight and replace FuelFilter and PCV since they're cheap.

I dont see anything on the display, so I dont know if a computer will show codes.

Anyone had issues like this? Man Im stumped any help will really be appreciated! Thanks

I finished with the fuelfilter and it dumped out some pretty bad looking gas onto a shop towel. Kinda Grayish.

The PCV valve was dirty but still worked. I went ahead and threw in a new one (@ $1.69 why not).

Ran pretty good on a test drive but the real test will be the daily grind. Still, I have a feeling there could be more wrong. Can it really be that simple? (yes, but is it likely to cause such bad stalling)

Truck is still stalling out. Doesnt happen when I turn the wheel, apparently some have had that issue but mine is non-specific to wheel location.

Shutters/sputters/stalls warm or cold.

I have read about CrankCase Position sensors going out. Common? Easy to do? CCPS is about $60 bucks.

Anyone...

You might want to get your alternator checked.

Take it to a shop and have them test the alternator. If you have a bad diode this can cause electrical problems and since our trucks run on computers I could see this causeing a stalling problem.
