I bought a 1990 Chevy Silverado 1500 (ok condition..) and plan on fixing it up. The body is in really good condition (needs a new paint job) and seat has got a rip in it (plan on either finding a replacement, or sewing it up and putting a seat cover over it) I was wondering what are some good tips and tricks to make this thing shine? I was thinking about taking the bench out and putting in a 60/40 seat if that's not too much of a pain. I also will be replacing the old radio with an Axxera XDMA7100 (has usb port, AUX jack, and SD card slot). I originally just wanted to take out the radio completely and put in a tablet (access to pandora) but the way the dash is, I'm afraid to start chopping into it so I might just get a car mount for that so I can still have access to Pandora. The truck has a really nice speaker set (can feel the bass pumping on the seats). I know they're added on and no way came with the truck. Any tips?

 

Congratulation on your new truck purchase. I would source out a new replacement seat like the 60/40 you mentioned.
If you have to spend time fixing a seat? You might as well fix a seat you'll love.
