Default 1996 Chevy Silverado with a "skip"

I've got a 96 chevy Silverado that idles good but "skips" when you shift it in gear. Has new plugs and wires and distributer cap, but it did not help this skipping. The truck also has a new fuel pump so I have no idea what the problem is. It seems to skip worse in forward than it does in reverse or in neutral. If this problem sounds familiar to anyone let me know. It would really help!

Try injector cleaner in the gas when you fill up.

pull off your air filter and look at your injectors... So long as it is tbi and not the vortec motor... Make sure that both injectors are spraying the same... I had one where one injector was stuck open and the truck would idle pretty good but would pop and skip when driving unless I was flooring it... If all that is good you could have a worn distributor gear
