Default 2010 Navigation System

Is there any way to get the Nav system to use major roads only? I selected allow highways in the menu, but it keeps sending me on one lane county roads. It gets me where I want to go but takes me "over the hills and through the woods". Anyone else have the same problem?

I had the nav system in an '07 and I specifically asked that I not have one in my '09. I've used many systems over the years and I disliked that one the most. They may have changed in the newer systems but mine gave you choices of "fastest" or "shortest". Shortest will often get you in trouble because it does take you in some very remote places. I found on mine that you must have "allow highway" selected or it would take you through every city you came to rather than taking bypasses. Nothing in the book to tell you that but I just found it by trying. Try selecting fastest route and select "allow highways" and that should be your best bet.
On my new truck, I just hung a Garmin in it and it works great and about $1800 cheaper. Good luck with it.

Thanks, I'll try that.
