Howdy all....I just called the dealer today as the drivers side of my rear 1/2 ton Silverado bumper is all rusty with surface rust and I've only had the truck for 9 months (bought it new). They told me it isn't covered and I just need to buff it out and put wax on it. It looks like a bad chrome job to me and I asked if that's all that's wrong, why isn't the other side of the bumper rusty? They just reiterated that it's not covered and I should just buff it out. Anyone else had this situation?

On a side note, I had the same problem with a Ford van I bought a few years ago and when I asked them about it, they acknowledged right off it was a bad chrome job, replaced the bumper without any questions and it's been fine for the 11 years I've owned it now.

This is a bad mark on Chevy in my book and if they really won't fix it....any advice you have would be appreciated if you may have had this happen as well!

 

I understand your frustration, but don't knock a hole Make of truck. If you feel the need to point the finger? I would point the finger at the dealership.

My suggestion would be either call Chev Customer Service or find another dealership.

I had warranty issues with my 2007 but the dealership I bought the truck at was no help. But the second dealership bent over backwards to help me.
