95 gmc 1500 trans problem

Default 95 gmc 1500 trans problem

I have a 95 gmc 1500 ext cab with a trans problem the truck wont come out of 1st everything else works just doesn't shift up what could be wrong and what will interchange with the truck has a 4.3 and i believe it to be a 4l60e

Might be in limp mode, at least I know it does that in newer trucks. Sometimes the ignition switch will go bad and this powers the tranny. Might look into having it scanned for that problem.

I checked the fuses the trans fuse was blown i just put a new pressure selinode in it i was told that was wrong with it i also put a new stearing colum in it when i bought it What other year trans will fit a 95 i know its different thanks for the help

Up to 99 i believe.

thanks im going to try tearing it back down looking for a short in the trans its still blowing fuses
