Question 96 K1500 front differential issue

96 K1500, 5.7, auto, 4x4, 4x4 shifter on the floor. I have had issues with the front axle not locking in. The transfer case is fine. I found a bad wire on a sensor on the transfer case. Not the Actuator, but above it. Its very small and I'm not sure what it is, Help. We have been blown fuses on the 4x4 in the past but not recently. Ideas

i would say its your actuator as the cable your discribing you cant but its part of the actuator i had the same thing happen on my 88 i thaught i could get just teh wire but later found out i would have to replace the actuator

i think yours maybe an electric actuator not the thermal kind but i may have it backwards
