Default base under the seats?

ive got an ext. cab truck and would like to add more base to the stock system. i dont wanna dump a lot of money and dont need a performance vibrator all i would like is a little more bass then i have now. ive done a little homework and found that there are boxes available to go under the seat in the ext. cab. the guy tried selling me a box that will hold 2 10's one on each side under the seat. i think its to much for my likings and only really want one. will this still sound good. i dont wanna over power the rest of my setup. what speaker is recomended and what amp to push that speaker?

i would suggest some sony explods, they are very good sounding speakers for a good price.

I used to have this same truck and had many configurations. I tried bazooka tube - no kick but loud, then 1 - 10" dual Cerwin-vega sub, then 2 - 10" Cerwin - vega duals. Both sounded great, but 2 was very loud. I liked it at the time, but decreased to 1 - 10 as I got older. I think if you are going for fill sound, any big name company will be fine. Recently I bought a punch LT1 for my wifes car and it fills well and can be cranked when wanted. It would also be a good choice. They also make LT2 and LT3 that can handle more power for louder base. The big thing is to match the power ratings on you amp to that of your speaker. To much power and it will rattle, too little and it will not push the speaker and will sound like crap. I have had very good luck with jensen 2 channel using bridged, as well as Dual amps. These are both very inexpensive amps ($70-$85 for 250 watts RMS). They do not have the sound clarity as do the more expensive amps, but this is a subwoofer, it doesn't need to be clean.

I built my own box under the rear seat, i'll put a picture up. In the picture i have one 12" Audiobahn (i have since built an identical box on the other side and it houses another Audiobahn 12"). It was really easy took about one saturday to complete the box then just a few hours on sunday to carpet it.
