Ok just back from another 30min-1hr road trip (didnt really time it) and all i can say is SO MUCH BETTER. its still not load blowing great but so much better than stock or with either hypertech i owned. from a dead stop still a dog, but from say 10-15mph or so she hits 60 like crazy. i think i need the shift point from 1-2 uped a bit because it seems like it drops off really quick, ill have to keep playing with it. im also going to have to get a shift kit, i think with that i should be able to remove all of the TM (please correct me if im wrong).
which shift kit do you guys recommend and about how much will it cost?
ill keep you updated, probably wont be able to tell mpg for this tank.

Start off by getting a Corvette servo you can get one for real cheap like 30 shipped I think. And I think Nelson can rais the shift firmness. But it will get better and better the more you drive it. Keep the updates coming I get my tune in a few days.

yea i called mellisa when installed it and asked if the increased the shift firmness and she said that they did. im still thinking about a shift kit if its not to expensive to get put in. im assuming i can remove 100% of TM then. i got 75% removal now, i should have gone with their recomended 80% but wanted to be somewhat conservative (if you call -5% conservative).

anywaysnext, mom says she will give me $150 in october for christmas (since i told her there wasnt really anything i want) so im going to get a buddy of mine to put the leveling kit on. im looking into getting an SS instrument cluster (mainly for the trans temp gauge, but the white faces are growing on me), then or sometime a shift kit, and eventually gear swap (hell with the economy and gas probably 5yrs from now).

drove it to work this morning since the shifter is broke in the saturn, and throttle feels excellent. the pedal feels a little to "soft" for me (im assuming do to the redcution in TM) but i can deal with it. response is also good. electric fans kick on like they are suppose to and still no SES codes yet (fingers crossed). and i may be smokin crack or something but i think my exhaust sounds a little louder. took my mom for a ride yesterday afternoon and hit it froma dead stop on the highway (still a dog in that area) and hit 90 fairly quickly. (she was screaming at me to watch out and not get a ticket, but quote "damn the truck sounds good jason")

anyways ill keep yall posted on how she performs and whenever i get around to driving it enough (sanely) and calculating MPG's ill post.

So it sounds like you like it huh? I plan on getting one soon too. And like someone said before, it takes about 300 miles of driving for the tune to really kick in, its after that do you get the full potential out of it.

yea i do like it so far "alot". Like i said i should have went with their recommended 80% TM reduction vs the 75% (its only 5% but hell id like a 5% raise right now). plus like i said i went with the dual 87/89 octane tune not the 93 (cant justify the price increase of gas) so the 93 was like 15 more hp.

i just hope the mpg dont suffer when i start driving normal again. with the cost of gas and the fact that i drive the saturn as my daily driver it takes awhile to empty a tank on the truck then fill it back up to check mpg's.

i think the best thing for me (especially when i go to 285's) is to save and do a gear swap one day. as for tuningbeat it def recommend Nelson Performance.

EarnhardtZ71: DO IT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. JK, since your under warrenty you could always keep your stock pcm and swap it when you need warrenty repair. the bad thing would be if (im not sure they would need it or not) your truck needed a crankshaft relearn done. you would have to take it to the dealer which instantly voids your warrenty. you could always go with the diablo predator. from what ive read and heard its the best handheld out there. im pretty dumb when it comes to tuning thats why i left it up to the experts. plus my warrenty is out in Jan 09.

rxsteven: like to know what you think of yours when you get it. if im not mistaken you are coming from a wheatly tune? did you with a 93 octane tune from Nelson?

Luckily I already have a 3.73 rear end!! That much I don't have to worry about. I think my plan of attack is to get my exhaust done first, then either a full CAI or just get an Airaid tube since I already have a K&N drop in. The exhaust alone should help...I don't like my truck being quiet!!

No I'm going with a live tune from a guy here in Indiana. Its called Wait4me. I always use 93 in my truck it runs better and I get mre MPG's. Its going to be a performance tune. I want to go turbo at the end of this year. I was thinking August but it looks more like October. So I want to go as cheap as I can tune wise for now. After my bud got one and I was vary impressed. I cant wait!!

EarnhardtZ71: yep its a truck not a honda. loud is good, i would suggest the single in dual out 40 or 44 series. you dont want to lose to much back pressure. i have the 40 series coming out behind both rear wheels. i like a good tone and not just noise though.

rxsteven: turbo? NICE. cant wait to see how that does for you.

im looking up shift kits now to help protect the 4l60e. looks like this kit comes recommended TRG-4L60E-HD2 and get a corvette servo as well. i dont know much about transmissions so i will have to get it installed. it will probably be expensive.
