Default clunking sound

I have a clunking sound when ever i hit bumps and sometimes when I start off from a stop light. It satrted sounding like it was coming fro the rear now it seems to be all over. My thought was all the rubber bushings are old and shrinking from the cold.BTW I am in Iowa. Any ideas or am I on the right track?
