Default Couple of problems

I have a 2004 1/2 ton crew cab. It's given me 75,000 trouble free miles but now I have 2 problems I've been trying to chase down to no avail

1st is the rattle in the steering column, at least that where I think it coming from. I'm not refering to the intermedite shaft clunk. This is a rattle. I've looked under the dash for something loose but can't find anything. It feels like it's in the column somewhere but I have no idea what it could be.

2nd, my blower motor stopped working on a couple of speeds a few weeks ago. Based on what I researched, the blower motor resistors commonly go out on these trucks so I replaced it (the harness was fine with no signs of melting). Now it's stopped on a speeds and I found the 30 amp fuse on the side of the dash was blown, which I replaced. It lasted about a week and blew again, replaced it and it lasted about 1/2 a day.
I'm thinking it might be the fan switch but I'm not sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No idea on the rattle. You may just have to take the cover off the column and take a look. I think the fan motor uses a relay on the highest speed. When does the fuse blow.....when changing speeds.....on any particular speed or at random? Any more symptoms you can give will help.
Good luck.

The last time I replaced the fuse it was on low speed when it blew. In fact I rarely use anything except the 1 & 2 position on the fan speed.

Check out post number 4 in the sticky at the top of this section. Mr. Shamrock may be able to help you with a solution.

I've seen something in here about your rattle also. If I find it again, I'll post it.
