Cracked Leaf Springs And Lift Inquiry
Hello everyone, im new to the forum and have been snooping around trying to get my questions answered. I am the proud owner of a 2003 Silverado 1500ext cab. The truck is 2wd and the heaviest load it gets to haul around is the weight of two YZ250s. That being said, let me dig in to the problem im facing. I over loaded my truck a couple weeks back with a bunch of off roading equipment and toys. For some god forsaken reason the rear (top) leafsprings on both sides are slightly bent, so that theyre pretty much straight. The one the left side has visible cracks, NOT GOOD.
While I'm at it, I'd like to lift my truck a couple inches, since its not 4wd im not going to go all out. I did my research and want to get a RC 2" leveling kit for the front and a 2.5 lift on the back. Now, my question is: if i add leaf springs from a 2500 will the 2.5' block in the back be necessary? will the 2500 leaf springs bolt right on my 1500 with no probs? How much higher is the rear going to be? I dont want to raise it a significant amount because im at a current situation that will not allow me to purchase those sexy AT BF tires. I wanna stick with the OEM sized tires and rims.
What do you guys suggest? Should i just buy new 1500 leaf springs and the 2.5' block for the back? or the 2500 leafsprings?
My truck is about to hit the 100k mark aswell, do shocks and such need to be replaced? No offroading will be done with this truck, just city and highway use.

Take a look at Deaver Mini Leaf Pack, I think it will give you everything you are looking for with an improved ride over stock. Not as cheap as stock replacements,
