RE: descreening MAF
So I did the MAF descreen...it took about 5 min to do.......so here is how on the pre 99 trucks
First remove the air cleaner cover and unclip the MAF and aircharge temp sensor
then unclamp both sides of the MAF and remove
it takes a T-27 torx bit to unbolt the 2 halfs
push the screen out with a screw driver or ratchet handle (mine came out in one piece)
bolt it back together (it only goes together one way) reinstall and you are done
maybe we can get this added to the other one for 99-up?!

RE: descreening MAF
runs great no noticed problems so far....idle seems to be smoother and there seems to be a minor throttle responce increase....as far as MPG i will have to get back to you all on that....Ive got 42 gallons to burn first it will probably be a minor increase but I have removed the fan and put an electric one on tooto help HP and MPG....i will repost findings in a few days

RE: descreening MAF
I have the Granatelli MAF and it came with a screen in it. Since I pulled the stock screen out, the new one went in with no screen. I would say save the $300 for something else if anyone is considering and aftermarket MAF, just not enough result to justify the $$.

RE: descreening MAF
yes actually I did fill up today.....the improvment was minor roughly 5-7 miles to the tank....I have a hunch that if you were to descreen AND buy a CAI you might see a better improvement...Im still "checking" this mod out....I will post when this 42 gallons is gone and try to get an average....the very first thing I noticed about this mod was the idle improvment....alot "smoother" in my opinion its worth it just for that..I havent pulled my trailer with it since I did the mod so I dont know about 'pullin power" yet
