Default Electrical help!!!

Hello people,
I have an 89 GMC Sierra 4x4 350, i will start off by saying its a mud truck. Previous owner did a few runs with it and the wires came loose on the sending unit, so he wired it threw the lights. Took that all off and wired to factory. Put a new alternator, battery, distributer, and a few sensors here and there. Takes a few seconds for the lights to come on. And when i change gears to reverse or drive or park or whatever, all the lights dim inside the cab. The truck ust to stall before i put all the new electrical parts on it.

ANY IDEAS??????

thanx

Dang!!! Sounds like you already know what the problem is, just gonna have to go on a hunt and check all the wires. That does not sound like a normal or common problem at all.

Yeah that's a stumper. Just have to go back through the whole system and try to find the culprit. I've never heard of that happening so it sounds like you got a good one. Good luck.

Check your grounds...a bad or corroded ground can cause some real weird things to happen.

Hey Everyone,
Thanx you for the help so that i know more where to look, of what good it'll do. I say that because when it comes to electrical stuff i am completely lost. Now if you talking about pulling an Engine, or Tranny, Doing brake work or brake lines or dropping a tank or wheel bearings or u-joints. Anything like that i know somewhat i am doing but when it comes to electrical a monkey would be better haha. But no thank you and i shall giver a go.

THANKS AGAIN!

Hey guys,
You will never guess what the problem was. Here's the story. Followed the wires everywhere and couldnt see anything. So i got frustrated and moved onto something else, i remember that i haven't changed the fuel filter so i did and my problems WERE GONE!!!

But once i run the truck for under a min the same problems happen again, untill i put a new filter on. So in a few days im gonna drop the tank. Also another thing, my postive cable thats on my starter was starting to break off so im thinkn that might have had something to do with it to.

Thanx for all your help guys, i hope after i clean the tank my problems will go away.

Thanx again
