Had the same problem with my 2001 and took it in to find that thepump was bleeding to 10 psi in under a minute. So they replaced the pump. Good thing I bought the warranty!!!! That also fixed my erratic fuel gauge.

 

I had same issue until pump finally went. I went thru wires front to back and found two bad wires behind body mount infront and bellow drivers door that were wore thru cause they came out of the loom one was purple the other was either black or had a black stripe anyway it cured gauge issue and since pump/sending unit was new I can only hope bad ground helps pump live longer.

 

I have the same problem but I got rid of it . . .I sold the car and bought another car. I just ask some money to my dad to get the car.

 

another thing to check is fuel regulator i have same problem right now
