high flow cats

hey guys i got a question....i was recently looking at high flow cats and i was told that they do next to nothing by someone but then told they are amazing by another person....are they worth the money?

i like mine. i did notice a bit of difference in performance with them but the headers and exhaust helps to.

worth the money depends on how much you value your money i guess... an exhaust shop told me they werent, but i dont have any so i dont know personally

really depends on the year and motor. On a 5.7 or bigger, you may notice a difference, anything less then you won't.

Actually what I've been told bya good 5-6 different people now is that basically on the newer vehicles they already have "high flow" cats. So if you go into an exhaust shop and ask for a high flow catalytic converter on say a new body style chevy you are just replacing it with something just like it. However on most older vehicles the cats are fairly restrictive, especially after they get filled with 200,000 miles worth of carbon so that's where you'll see power gains.

yeah, that makes sense, the newer your truck is the better the stock equipment seems to be getting, like the header debate on newer trucks

Pretty much. That's why these low displacement engines are putting out so much power now. Our 4.8's are putting out almost twice as much power as some asthmatic 5.0's were putting out 20-25 years ago.
