Keyless entry without power locks
Hey guys im looking to either install myself or have bestbuy install a keyless entry/ remote starter, and my car doens't have power locks so they're gonna have to put the door actuators in. My question is...
how hard are these to install myself?
do I need that expensive wiring harness if i dont have power locks... they would just use the lead from the actuator not the power door lock wire, unless i need it for another wire in the installation.
thanks in advance

I've done 3. Cherokee, Silverado and S10. Got the units from JC Whitney, under $100. Includes 2 fobs. Not a bad install at all. Solenoid actuator mounted inside door and receiver unit mounted under dash somewhere. You can ductape it to the steering column if you're lazy. If it's too crowded under there, I get lazy.
1 wire to fusebox for always on power, 1 wire to ground, then 2 wires through door chase for the actuators. Simple plunger/solenoid operation Just moves the inside rod back/forth or up/down - the rod attached to the manual ****. Mount the actuators wherever they can fit and can still move the rods without interference.
Trickiest part is getting the door liner off/on. Removing the handles can be tedious. Usually a retention ring you have to find and pull off. I'm sure there are tons of posts on many internet sites as to how to remove these handles. Armrest usually screws off and liner slides around door handle. Basic tools, no harness needed. A couple of hours depending on your skillset. Directions that come with can be a bit lacking, but a little analysis and it becomes pretty simple really. Probably a bunch of how-to's on YouTube also
Good luck - well worth the effort.
