Location of ECU on 88' GMC Sierra 1500
Hi,
New on here and hoping you guys can supplement what I have taught myself and the Chilton. I had bought a used alternator (which ended up being wrong alt) I put it in then
I forgot that my battery had full charge from maintenance charger and my helper hooked a booster to it, so when I cranked it, I'm sure most of you probably know what occurred.
A great big puff of smoke and then nothing.
I believe it's called positive wire from battery got smoked.
So I was looking at other wires to see if anything else needed replacing, and there is a little black box on firewall, drivers side.
When I opened it, it looked a little 'corroded?' .
The helper took that off and now I can not find it.
So I bought a splice kit for wire that burned ......
Any pointers on that would be great
AND is that box the ECU ?
And how difficult is it to remove/replace.
Any pointers, I would be eternally grateful
Thanks
