Default no start 2003 silverado

Turning the ignition starts all the accessories.. lights, door open bell, cd player but doesn't come close turning over the motor.

Yesterday had no problem and the temp is mild here: 45-degrees

Battery has been replaced I think less than 2 years ago. I wiggled the contacts - nothing. No lights were left on last night.

Does a battery drop so quickly with no warning? Drove truck about 45 miles yesterday.

When you turned the key and none of the lights dimmed and your all your wires have good contact, your starter solenoid might be bad.

Default ok

Suppose it could be the alternator also?

How can I check for which component is bad if I have no electronics tools?

Well a cheap multimeter could help you show how much the battery drops with load. Charge the battery and see if it starts. Get a multimeter and start it. Battery should have around 12 volts. Alt should have around 13.6 to 14.4 volts when the motor is running. If the battery drops volts big time like to 7 volts when you start it then it could be bad.

Jumped the battery, then ran truck 18 miles. Turned it off, then attempted to start immed after. Zip.

Anyone know what the starter solenoid looks like and where it is, for Chevy 2003 Silverado 1500 ?

It sits on top of the starter which means its attatched to it. A whole new starter is what ya need.

I would take it to an auto parts store and have them check the battery just to be 100% sure. It's free.
