Hmm you may. Try one of the other formats if possible? I am not sure, but I know you can download different software that will allow you to convert it to different formats. I'm pretty sure WMA should work for sure.

This is a 1997 right? It has the split din.
I ran into similar problems with my 96 Silverado. Turns out the CD player was bad, so I replaced it with one from my cousin's 98 Suburban.

Does it play original copies without problem?

Hey Chris - for the record, on my '98 with the accessory CD player, burned CDs play just fine.

Are you putting labels on your CD's?
My Silverado absolutely WILL NOT play a CD with a paper inkjet label on it.
