I have a 2001 silverado 1500. My question is, I want to install the rear view mirror with the compass and outside thermometer, is the pig tail already there to plug in the mirror even though I only have a standard mirror? Thanks for your help.

 

no it will not be there but you can get one from a good bone yard and put it in you will need the temp sensor up front by the radiator also for the thermometer to work

 

I have a 1999 Silverado and there is a connection up inside the overhead consule near the front windshield. Is this the connection I would need for the compass/thermometer? Or is this for an optional "computer" that mounts in the overhead (there is a blanked out area that lkooks like a computer could go there).
