My tranny on my silverado has 110k everything seems to be working fine but the OD. It takes forever to kick into OD usually would kick in around 45 MPH now i have to take it to 65 MPH. I wanted to get some opinions. should i have it rebuilt or find one in a local junkyard? i been lookin around and some of them have over 150k for like 300 dollars. Also this month my engine is comming out so i think im gonna do everything in one shot.

 

if it isnt slipping, what makes you think it's your tranny. maybe you have a stuck solenoid or something. i would find out what sensor makes the tranny shilft and start there. what trans do you have?

 

700r4 u might be right i forgot about solenoid also it does not downshift if i put it into second or D while driving

 

hmm i don't know much about the 700r4 but i know i work at a wrecking yard and we sell 700r4's all day long for 55 bucks. you know that like 95% of astro vans have the same tranny (unless you have a 4wd). s10 blazers with the 4.3 have the same tranny also. sorry I'm not much help. maybe check the linkage or the vacuum module thing if it has one.

 

i dont think the ones off those will be strong enough for my v8 due to the clutch plates

 

i promise they are all the same.

 

those 700r4s shouldnt be solenoid controled there pretty much mechanical but those 4l60 and 4l80s are. depends on the year of truck for those.
