Out of no where my service engine light came on,truck runs fine, what could it be?Needs front rotors as they just started grinding about three days before the light came on.Are they linked to this light perhaps?

the bad thing about having a auto parts store do the scan is that they don't know **** about cars, so they are gonna say it could be like 10 different things, and they want you to buy ****.

Thats why you have them write down the codes and you personally look them up.

$100 buys a scanner that will tell you the code and description. I use my own, then call the dealder for more info relating to the code

Have you washed the engine bay lately or driven through alot of water anywhere. There is a know problem with the knock sensor on the rear under the intake manifold of giving false readings. if you get the codes pulled and this is the sensor it is showing. when you replace it put a 1/4 inch bead of silicone around it to build a "flood wall" so it will not happen again. First I would disconect the battery and reset all codes and see if it comes back on.
