Default Side exit exhaust

I have made a few calls and found that mounting the exhaust out the side on front of the right tire like the Ford Lightnings is a lot cheaper so I am thinking about doing this to my truck with the Super 44. Will this take away from the loudness of the exhaust though? I want it to be loud and proud but at the same time I like the idea of not spending more than $200. Feedback wanted!

Also is there a sound/performance difference between the single in, dual out and the single in, single out muffler designs?

your gonna loose alot of lowend power with dual single in single outs. a single in dual out will leave you with enough backpressure to run good but still have good sound to it. the side exit should be nearly as loud. just remember itll be louder on the pass side. exhaust is louder when it bounces off of things so going down the road should bounce off of buildings, bridges and cars.

The single in dual out and the single in single out should give the same results as far as performance. I can't imagine there being a difference in sound either.

I agree... There shouldn't be a difference in in performance... I'd say just go withwhat looks better to you...

if you're going to do that, why don't you just put turndowns on it? that would probably be just as cheap if not cheaper... just a thought

Well I like the way the Lightning exhaust looks so I don't wanna just put a turndown after the muffler. Besides $200 ain't bad at all. Just gotta make some money first. I was also intrigued by the idea that I haven't really seen any Sierras or Silverados with this exhaust setup so as far as I know it'll be unique. That's a big plus in my book!

that's true... didn't know if you were particularly fond of that look or what... and yeah 200 bucks is definitely a good price

The closest thing I have seen so far is the system made by Gibson... It costs like $400 without shipping...
