How's it going everyone, ive got a 1999 chevy silverado 4x4 with a 4.8L in it performance wise i put straight pipes on in and a intake and that all. I want to do something to get some more serious power for when i add bigger tires. I looked into a super/turbo charger and they are all in the 3 to 6 grand range so i figured it would be smarter just to put a bigger and newer engine in so i dont blow anything since my truck has 120,000 miles on it. Any suggestions on engine and transmission combinations to do?? any advice will help thanks

 

You can find a 6.0 lq9 pretty cheap at a junkyard with tranny for bout half of what that supercharger will run. For another $1000 a cam for that motor with a tune will add another 120lbs. of torque. My midly cammed 5.3 is around 360 hp. Headers are another 3 bills. All this easily puts you in the 420hp range. The supercharger will add about 125 to the 4.8, its too limited.

wow that is impressive and thats exactly what i want 400hp without a power outer, ive been doing a lot of online research and i found a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS LS2 Engine with Auto Transmission and AWD. Do you think that the AWD will work with my 4X4? How do you think it will bolt up?
