Hello all, I just found this forum. Looks like you guys have some good info here. I am looking for a gift for a friend. He has a 2004 Silverado 2500 crew cab with the 6.0 engine. He wantsa new exhaust and intake to make it sound better (more important) and possibly get better gas mileage (would be nice). It would be nice if the exhaust was a bolt on. Please let me know what is out there and what you guys think sounds and works the best. Thanks for any help.

 

Any of the bolt on kits will be an improvement, but I would suggest going to a shop and have them custom make the exhaust. This will save money and get you exactly what you need. As far as intakes, I like the volant personally.

 

pretty much any kind of flowmaster or magnaflow or whatever sounds good on those 6.0 L... i know somebody with a single in/dual out flow 40 (not even super 40) on a 6.0 and it has a really deep rumble to it... i guess its the extra displacement

 

Wish I had a friend that bought me truck parts... anyways go with the flowmaster, 40 series they sound awesome but wont attract every cop in town, as for the intake they are all basicly the same but try to find a dry filter, the oil ones suck because they need to be recharged and they can screw up your mass airflow sensor if you put too much oil on.
