Limits the amount of load on a motor by the rest of the driveline until a designated RPM.

If your motor creates most of it's torque around 2500 rpm but you have a 1700 rpm stall converter your motor has to work really hard before it gets easy. If you have a converter closer to your peak torque range the motor is less stressed to move forward.
Imagine baseball. When you release the ball during a pitch that is your peak torque.
1700 stall - you are only allowed 17 in of movement to throw the ball to home plate.
2500 stall - you are allowed 25 in of movement to throw the ball home.
Both will be difficult, but one is easier than the other.

During normal operation you may not notice much, it may feel a little sluggish from a stop. Flooring it is where you would really notice it. As long as you don't go too high it will make it faster at full throttle.

yea when you jump it off the line at low rpms, it takes a second to get its power. of course, i onlt have 2.73s which dont help either. you will definatly notice the difference if you pay attention and listen to your motor.
