Default Tranny Drain Plug?

I have an '04 Silverado 4x4 ext. cab with the 5.3 liter engine and automatic transmission. I noticed what looks like a plug on the tranny pan, but the head of the plug is tapered. Is this a drain plug? Neither metric nor English sockets will fit.
Anyone know what this plug is for and if it's a plug what kind of tool is needed to remove it?[>:]

Thankx

what i did to not strip it was use a 6 point socket and my impact gun on low while pushing on it as hard as i could, worked great. that bolt is like butter.

Airgun and three sockets later all I got was a rounded off bolt and sore arms. I had to use a Blitz catch pan and just unbolted the pan, let her fly, and dumped it all into paint cans. Oh well. Still got the job done.

Yeah, tried that too, now its just this tiny nipple looking bolt, lol. I was going to drill it out but had already wasted too much time trying to get it out so I just dropped the pan and stood back.

I think I put between four and five in tops, I think just four and a half. It was a while ago. I bought six and had one full one left over.
