transmission problems

Default transmission problems
I have a 1997 chevy Z71 wtih just over 200,000 miles and the trany will not go in reverse. i don't think a filter and flush will fix it but was wondering before i drop the trany.

Does it make a grinding kind of noise?
If so you most likely lost OD as well.
Assuming it is an automatic the reaction sun shell probably stripped out.
Common failure on the 4L60E.
