Hey people, would appreciate any help I can get!
2000 silverado, 5.3 engine. Starts and runs for about 30 seconds. Replaced the fuel filter and the pressure regulater. Fuel pump comes on and hums for a coupla seconds like it's supposed to. Gotta trouble code for an air emission thing like two weeks ago.Any ideas guys? Thanks!!!

 

Find out exactly what that code is before doing anything. From your description, almost sounds EGR related. Does your truck have an air pump?

 

No air pump. Can't find the code I wrote down. Have scanner access in a few days. Till then, general ideas? Thanks

 

Perhaps IAC is bad? Can you keep the truck running, or does it idle real low and stall out, or does it instantly die.

 

Sounds like a security thing to me?????????????

 

Idles normally for about 30 seconds,then dies.If I try to press the gas pedal,dies right away.????

we had a 99 at work that did the same darn thing except it would still drive every time i got to a stop light it would die on me also at the same time the security light was on we fixed the security problem i dont remember how but no more problems with it
