Hey, everyone I am new to truck forums. I have a 1998 Chevy 3/4 with a 454 with a whinning fuel pump. I read all the threads and I saw that people said its normal, the pump needs to be in 1/4 fuel, or the pump could be on its way out.

 

Seen fuel filters that are getting plugged put more strain on the pump to push fuel thru the filter. Result more noise. Change the filter and "some" of the noise may go away.

 

truck will still start cant hear the pump whinn any more but it is running rough is it the pump or the fillter how do i tell it is a 99 silverado with a 5.3
