Default Lookin' to buy a Dodge Ram 1500

Hey I'm 16 and I'm lookin to get my first truck and tryin to be in the $20,000-22,000 range. I live on long island so trucks are decently expensive and i feel like alot of people where i live dont know what there talkin about when it comes to trucks. Ive looked at some nice fords and chevys but i really liked an 08 ram 5.7L hemi with 71k miles. I'm kinda worried about the milage and I would jus like some input on how this truck would treat me. its listed at $22k and is loaded on the inside, the dealer said he could get nicer wheels/tires on there for me too... im also looking to lift it. Thanks

Hey Simpslax
Welcome to Truck Forums
Here at Truck Forums we respect a follow members choice of make and model of truck.
We do not bash or slander a member loyalty to a particular make of truck.

Every make and model of truck has their pros and cons.
Your attraction to the 08 Ram is good. I can see why. It is a sporty tuff looking rig.
This is just my opinion. I think this truck your looking at is a little pricy. But value sometime falls into the eye of the buyer. For some people, it's love at first sight... they will pay anything.
This is great your being patient and researching your purchase. How about taking it a step further. Research the eastern sea board for a northern community that has a lot of trucks and truck dealers. Make a weekend out of it. for a $100 hotel home you could save yourself thousands $$. That could go towards a good lift kit + installation
Keep us informed on your truck hunt

I bought a dodge because my old assistant had a titan and they said it was horrible on fuel. Also it doesn't look as beefy as the dodge's do.

I really don't care for Nissan at all.
