Default Braking Troubles

Hello everyone,

New to the forum here. Got a quick question: I've been experiencing a lot of brake fade recently. Seems like almost every day, I have to pump the pedal to get some feedback. I've almost gotten into an accident a couple of time because of this.

The pedal is extremely stiff and when I press it, seems to have no stopping effect. I checked my pads and they're practically brand new (replaced them over the summer, only got about 10,000 on them) and brake fluid level is up to spec.

Any thoughts?

Greetings: I have no idea what kind or mileage truck you have, but my generic guess would be your vacuum booster. A quick way to check it is to pump your pedal with the engine off. After a few pumps it should be stiff. Start the motor. The pedal should have much less resistance now. If you can't feel the difference, it's a bad booster or vacuum line. Good luck
